  • Last Meeting - October 2, 2008
    The October meeting was held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 2nd at the First Plymouth Congregational Church, 3501 S Colorado Blvd, Englewood, CO. A panel including Dr. Charles Miranda, Judy Smith, RD of North Suburban Medical Center, Sally Yerger of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and two CSA board members discussed medications, hospitalization preparations, nursing home stays, GF college living and rights to reasonable accommodation for persons living with disabilities.

    Special Meeting - November 17, 2008
    The CSA Denver Metro Chapter hosted a special lecture featuring Dr. Thomas O'Bryan, nationally recognized speaker and workshop leader specializing in CD and gluten intolerance. The meeting was held Monday, Nov 17th at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, 4005 Kipling St., Wheat Ridge, CO from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. See the September 2008 chapter newsletter for more information.

  • Past Meeting - August 2, 2008
    The August meeting was our annual chapter potluck picnic, held on Saturday, August 2nd at Addenbrooke Park (600 S Kipling, Lakewood, CO).   (map) The chapter provided the main dishes from Brother's BBQ. Attendees brought GF side dishes or dessert to share, with the chapter providing soft drinks, paper goods and plastic-ware. A face painter provided entertainment for the kids.

  • Past Meeting - June 14, 2008
    The June chapter meeting was held on Saturday, June 14th at the El Jebel Oasis, 4625 West 50th Avenue, Denver, CO.   (map)   The 2nd annual Incredible, Edible Gluten-Free Food Fair returned with a smashing success. Many, many vendors, and over 400 participants made the fair the best ever. Free samples, baked goods, and pizza to purchase, door prizes, books and more!   • Past Meeting - April 3, 2008
    The April chapter meeting was held at the Green Mountain Vitamin Cottage, 12612 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO.   Karen Falbo, Certified Nutritionist and Vitamin Cottage Nutritional Health Coach Coordinator, discussed cooking with some of the alternative, more nutritious GF whole grains and how to incorporate them into our diet. Debbie Knapp, Corporate Grocery Buyer, featured a wide range of GF products from their store. There were pleny of samples for tasting.

    The February chapter meeting was held on Thursday, Feb 7th at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 3350 White Bay Drive, Highlands Ranch.   Our featured speaker was Dr. Scot Lewey.

  • National and Regional Meetings
    CSA as a national organization assists with regional and state conferences. They have fostered having the national conferences in the fall, preferably in October, and having state and regional conferences in the spring, preferably in March.

    The 31st Annual CSA Conference was held at La Vista, Nebraska (an Omaha metropolitan community) at the Embassy Suites, La Vista from October 17-19, 2008.
